Operation |
Moving and Releasing the Fingers:
To close the Moveable Fingers, push them up using your hand or another other suitable object.
To release the moveable fingers, push down on the Fixed Fingers. Pushing down opens the mechanism to release the moveable fingers. The moveable fingers will drop down.
NEVER PULL THE MOVEABLE FINGERS DOWN! Doing so can cause irreparable damage.
Rotating the Terminal Device:
The Terminal Device can be rotated 360 degrees to obtain the best angle for the intended use.
Useful Grips:
There are many different grips that can be used for different tasks. Some of these are shown below.
Warnings and Cautions |
With the moveable fingers at the bottom of the tool, lift weights only up to a maximum of 500 grams
With the Fixed Fingers at the bottom of the tool, lift weights only up to a maximum of two (2) kilograms
Do not use to operate a motor vehicle
Do not expose to open flame or excessive heat
Do not use the tool as a hammer
Be careful when using the tool around electricity
Maintenance |
The entire prosthesis can be washed with water.
Melt the ends of any straps to stop fraying.
If any part of the prosthesis stops working or is damaged, please contact the agency from where you received it.
Practice |
Directly after fitting the prosthesis, please do some simple tasks such as writing, using a broom, using a spoon, drinking from a cup, etc. This way, you can get an idea of how the tool may help you in your daily life.
Wearing and using a new prosthesis can be confronting and awkward for the first days and weeks.
As with any new device, it will take practice and patience to get it working as well as it can for your daily routines.
Please practice as much as you can and are willing to do.
