The Hand Project has fitted more than10,000 prosthetic arms, hands and devices in over a dozen countries
Over 2 million people living in low-income countries have upper limb amputations/differences. The reasons for amputation are varied and include accidents, disease, violence and limited medical care. Fewer than 5% of these people have access, or the financial means, to get prosthetic devices.
That’s where The Hand Project comes in – with help from teams like yours.
In many parts of the world, losing a hand often means losing a job, independence, and connection to community. Our 100% free, fit-for-purpose prosthetics are designed to change that. They’re simple, strong, and functional, fitting the range of upper-limb amputations from hand to shoulder. Lightweight and virtually maintenance-free, they’re also built to be safe from theft or resale.
And the best part? Each device is built by a team like yours. A hand you help assemble gives someone the ability to write, cook, work, hug, and smile again.
